BEHIND THE WORK
A journey from creative expression to holding space for women through life’s most transformative seasons.
CREATIVE BEGINNINGS & MOTHERHOOD
Hi, I’m Tania and before becoming the founder of Amaya Mama, I spent years behind the lens as a photographer living between Paris and Tokyo where I documented fashion, beauty, culture, and the quiet moments that make us human.
Everything shifted after the birth of my first daughter in Japan, where I experienced a level of traditional postpartum care and nurturance that deeply changed me. It opened my eyes to what women truly deserve during seasons of transformation: to be held, nourished, witnessed, and supported.
YEARS OF STUDY, WITNESSING & HOLDING
That experience led me onto a new path of study and devotion. I began training with bodyworkers, energy healers, midwives, herbalists, and teachers of Ayurveda and yoga, while continuing to run my photography business for many years. Over time, my work gradually shifted from capturing transformation to holding space for it.
After co-founding a retreat centre and facilitating women’s retreats, I eventually founded Amaya Mama as a space dedicated to supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with grounded, holistic care.
SUPPORTING WOMEN THROUGH IT ALL
Today, my work has expanded beyond motherhood alone. I now support women through many forms of transitions from postpartum, grief, divorce, addiction recovery, career shifts, and plant medicine integration.
I offer bodywork, ritual, lifestyle guidance, herbal support, and compassionate presence to help women stay grounded, regulated, and connected to themselves through life’s most tender seasons.
